The Creative Gene: A Family Affair May 19 2016
For six decades Elizabeth Yanish Shwayder has made her mark as an internationally collected and highly awarded sculptor, lecturer, and leader in the arts community,
but her true sense of purpose as an influential humanitarian includes organizing the "New York Cares " Coat Drive, (covered in TIME magazine Dec. 1993) as well as a Book drive for troops in the gulf, and the organizer of Coats for Colorado, to name just a few. Both her daughters, Marilyn Ginsburg (a human rights lawyer) and Mindy Yanish (a gallery owner and minister) as well as her granddaughter Jessica Ginsburg (an environmental lawyer) all share the need to make a difference and to make art. Their passion to create arises from the depths of the family soul. For the first time, they are coming together for a multi- generation art show. This rare exhibition and the opportunity to meet the family opens on Saturday June 4 with an artist's reception from 3 to 6 pm. at Offerings Gallery at 59 Katonah avenue, Katonah, NY . Exhibition runs through July 17.
