For six decades Elizabeth Yanish Shwayder has made her mark as an internationally collected and highly awarded sculptor, lecturer, and leader in the arts community,
but her true sense of purpose as an influential humanitarian includes organizing the "New York Cares " Coat Drive, (covered in TIME magazine Dec. 1993) as well as a Book drive for troops in the gulf, and the organizer of Coats for Colorado, to name just a few. Both her daughters, Marilyn Ginsburg (a human rights lawyer) and Mindy Yanish (a gallery owner and minister) as well as her granddaughter Jessica Ginsburg (an environmental lawyer) all share the need to make a difference and to make art.
